Cancer survivor takes on big project: Extreme bus makeover

    December 28th, 2005

A couple in their 70s who have been married for more than 56 years, Don and Carol Tresedder can credit their bus conversion with more than making them feel alive.

Mr. Tresedder has had to endure about a half-dozen cancer surgeries since beginning his bus conversion, and during the process he’s lost his right leg right up to the hip, in addition to parts of his lungs. Without something to keep him going, he could easily have decided all these battles against cancer just weren’t worth the effort.

Instead, the bus conversion has become something that even he admits borders on an obsession.

    Persistence

    December 28th, 2005

Nothing in the world can take the place of Persistence.
Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent.
Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb.
Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts.
Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent.
The slogan, ‘Press On’ has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race.

    Calvin Coolidge
    30th president of US (1872 - 1933)

You musn’t quit your Bus Conversion

    December 27th, 2005

YOU MUSN’T QUIT YOUR BUS CONVERSION

When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road you’re trudging seems all uphill,
When the funds are low and the debt is high,
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest if you must! But never quit.

Life’s road is odd with its twists and turns,
As everyone of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure turns about,
    When he might have won if he’d stuck it out;
Stick to your task, though the pace seems slow—
You may succeed with one more blow.

Success is failure turned inside out,
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are,
    It may be near when it seems afar;
So stick to the fight when you’re hardest hit,
It’s when things seem worst that YOU MUSTN’T QUIT!

    30 Day Bus Conversion

    December 26th, 2005

Want to get your conversion done in a hurry? Just get a bunch of antsy college kids and let ‘em have after it. That’s what Doug did!

    30 Day Conversion
Four years ago we bought an Eagle at auction. Immediately we had all systems (engine, drivetrain, wheels, tires, brakes, hydraulic, electrical, mechanical and air) checked by a reputable firm. One month and one large check later our bus was returned to us ready for conversion.
