Make life a little easier while working on your Bus Conversion

    February 5th, 2006

“It is winter outside. We’re working comfortably inside our conversion in t-shirts. For food and snack convenience we’ve hooked up a couple $20 electric burners.”

So, You ran 120v out to the bus…while you’re at it, how about getting one of those big box $60 microwaves & a coffee maker? And maybe a boom box & a fan to move the warm air around. Maybe even a little 4.5 cu.ft. refrigerator for when it’s break time & a shop vac for the dust you’ll make when sanding, cutting, grinding etc.

There’s no reason not to be as comfortable as possible while working out there. You can use it all when you hit the road.

Why build a bus, Part XIVIIVIXXG5

    February 5th, 2006

I always tell stick and staple motorhome owners that a motorhome is made to sell at a profit.

A bus is made to make a profit.

    That is usually enough said.

The great interiors are all too rare

    February 4th, 2006

MY biggest disappointment in coaching is the fact that creative or unusual designs are almost never seen.

Cheapo copies of an RV from a show, yes, semi-yacht, yes,
…but creative use of the many styles available from the past are very rare.

The private car is one very fine example of a great creation.

But for my taste the great interiors are all too rare.

    Somebody, GO FOR IT!

Don’t wait until the Bus Conversion is ‘done’ to use it

    February 3rd, 2006

Done is only a state of mind! |;-)

I can crank it up and go somewhere today if I want to and I try to maintain that while I work. Makes things a little more difficult but that’s my way.

Some of George Meyers’ best advice: don’t wait until it is done to use it because it is never done — use it as soon as possible even if you have to hang sheets and use hammocks or inflatabeds.

How to add color to your shower

    February 3rd, 2006

Ron is trying to figure out how to configure the shower area in his new conversion…

John: “Why not diamond plate the entire shower stall? Do the floor as well, in diamond plate. Aluminum diamond plate can bend to conform to the curves, etc.. Use a standard flat glass door, and yer all set.”

Ron: “But I want some color.”

    John: “Bleed.”

You have to dig the machine!

    February 3rd, 2006

“It may turn out that I am better off with a diesel pusher or even a trailer. I am still investigating the whole bus thing to see if it would be for me.”

    Very possibly NOT -

The lure/love of Bussing is what creates Bus Nuts, not a desire for a cheap motorhome.

Motorhoming or camping is ONE hobby,

Bussing is a completely different hobby.

We have a camper interior (worlds simplest) in our “Sports Car of Coaches” to justify owning the bus.

Yes, it’s great fun to camp the wilds of Canada or AK, and to use as the “worlds biggest Greenbriar” as some call it,

But the reason for ownership is the delightful fun it is to DRIVE the coach.

You have to dig the machine!

Examine whether you want to just go camping, or if you really are turned on by the BUS part.
