Roof Raise may limit access to out of the way places

Raising the roof on a coach shell no doubt has numerous benefits: more insulation, spiffier lighting, space for HVAC ducting, a wire chase, not to mention more ‘roominess’. Aside from the tremendous time involved though, here’s a good argument for not raising the roof unless you’re a tall person…

But when loose on the road and enjoying the scenery, (or not!) I tend to wander away from interstates and large cities. Out on the two lane roads and through the old original routes once traveled before intertstate highways. Those
"shortcuts" are more fun anyway.”

Absolutely, Dave! That’s the reason I always wonder why so many bus converters do roof raises on coaches that are already too high for some back road routes. It’s a shame to limit travels and the great scenery that comes with it, for the sake of interior aesthetics.
