Want more space in your RV?

Author Janet Groene writes in the November issue of FMCA Magazine about creating not only the feeling of, but literally, ways to give you more usable space in your RV.
You can quickly build handy magazine racks starting with extra-deep picture frames, also called display frames. Each can hold three or four magazines, and with one by the bed, one in the ‘reading room’, and another in the cockpit, you expand space and reduce hard-to-control clutter. Also handy for maps and travel guides in the cockpit.
Extra hanging room can be created with hinge-mounted towel racks sold in home-improvement stores. These racks fold flat against the door. For example, the toilet paper holder might fit inside a bathroom cupboard door, leaving wall space clear.
Have you ever considered putting in a laundry or trash chute that empties into one of the basement storage compartments? Check to see if there is clearance and room downstairs, then investigate the corner of a galley counter or behind bathroom drawers for convenient hatch access. Create the chute and access door, place a laundry basket or trash container in the basement, and save lots of back and forth trips in and out!
