The milk jug full of water may not be obvious, but the first use of the working shower drain was for this humble bus converter to sit cross-legged in the base and pour water over mah head.

I won’t suffer you the pain of seeing that photo.

Yeah, I got gantt charts, I got CPM charts, I got project lists, I got spreadsheets. When the rubber hits the road, though, figuring it out in real time is the way it works for me!

In the last day of the shower install, in a 103° working environment, you might notice the final deliverable…”Taka Showah!”

Ok, this one took me a long time to figure out. One of the biggest challenges in figuring out my floorplan was how to drain the water from the shower. As mentioned elsewhere, 99% of conversions have the ‘facilities’ located above the rearmost bay, so effluent goes directly down into the tanks.

Well darnit, I was so stubborn about this that I had to make it work with a rear shower. I looked at all possibilities and kept coming up without a solution. The big challenge is that water must drain downhill, and when the shower is in the rear, the rear wheels and axles are in the way under the coach!

Finally, I had the idea to run the drain line inside the air conditioning ductwork. It goes directly down, forward about five feet, and out the side of the ‘tunnel’, into the p-trap and down into the tank! Slanted as much as possible, of course.

I used a deck plate from West Marine, allowing all input/outputs to go thru one hole. It’s an 8″ plate, but there is no way I spent +$20 for this. It must have been on sale or something, because it’s not like me at all to do full retail. There are cheaper solutions, and arguably better for ant prevention for example, like Don’s and others.

A book can be written about the testing done in an oil analysis.

Somewhere I scanned an image of the results, but until I find it and elaborate on the testing that is done, you will be pleased to know that I got perfect results! Man, was that a relief. To know that one’s engine is good and will last the rest of their lives is an incredible feeling. I was pretty confident that the results would be fairly good, but to get a perfect score was pure elation!
